HOLDING SPACE FOR YOU TO REMEMBER THEM

SUPPORT GRIEVING COLLEAGUES WITH AN ONLINE MEMORIAL SERVICE

Planning a Memorial Service for a colleague is very different from other company gatherings.

We’re here to help honor your team member with a Memorial Service that best reflects their values, work ethic, and the energy they brought to their work.

“Thank you, Suzanne. I have been receiving a lot of positive feedback from this beautiful experience you facilitated for us.”

Getting Started

  • Communication Is Key

Your dedicated Holding Space Events planning facilitator will lead you through every step of the planning process, including communication content, tone and timing.

Communicate clearly and continue to speak about the co-worker who died by name. Address who is covering their responsibilities in the short term.

Grief resources are most effective with a layered approach. Explain available resources. Continue to share both short term and ongoing resources.

  • Plan & Facilitate A Connective Experience

We’ll help identify a core Planning Team and then collaborate throughout the planning process.

A Memorial Service planned with purpose and intention is a connected experience with speakers sharing different perspectives. The memories preserved are an invaluable gift for all.

We help contextualize program elements and create a welcoming space for all guests to share memories and stories.

Reasons to plan an online memorial service.

  • An online service is an inclusive space for everyone to join and honor the life of a colleague.

  • A death may impact a few employees or an entire staff. It may also trigger other losses we’ve experienced in our lives. The service will meet everyone where they are.

  • Planning and attending a Memorial is an actionable and productive way to support grieving co-workers.

  • A memorial is an essential part of the grieving process. It’s a ritual that carries us emotionally from one place to another while creating connection.

  • An Online Memorial Service is recorded. This preserves memories and stories that can be shared with the colleague’s family.

  • It may bring both communities of family and work colleagues together. This often yields the gift of hearing new stories about the honoree or the same story from a different perspective.

  • Gathering Space: A physical space to take a break.

Talk about them: A venue to talk about how you’re feeling without judgement.

Check-in with your team: “I know how hard this loss is for you. How are you today?” Be fully present and supportive when they reply. Listen. Don’t try to fix anything. Remind them of resources available when they are ready.
